Until the Climbing Begins!

Day Of registration from 5:30 to 6:30am.

Summit Cycling Productions, in cooperation with the City of Colorado Springs, The City of Manitou Springs, the U.S. Forest Service and The Pikes Peak Highway, are proud to introduce the inaugural version of “Assault on the Peak”, a cycling event to the top of Pikes Peak.  This event will be a timed, non-competitive event for the first 1500 riders wishing to challenge the most famous mountain in America.

The Assault is a fully supported event giving a limited number of cyclist the chance to tackle the hardest climb in North America.  The road is being rented for the day and will be entirely closed to non-event automobiles.

The event is being lengthened.  We have secured the cooperation of Manitou Springs, the Colorado State Highway Patrol and the Colorado Department of Transportation in order to start the event in Memorial Park in the center of Manitou Springs.  Riders will ride through the City of Manitou and then climb a closed lane of US Highway 24 up Ute Pass to the town of Cascade.  From there  is approximately  1.5 miles to the original toll gate start.  The event is now 24.5 miles up with a total ascent of over 7700 vertical feet....and 24.5 miles down with 7700 feet of descent!

Due to the generous sponsorship of Red Noland Cadillac the cost of the event has dropped to $150 and there is now an option to climb to Glen Cove which is below tree line for just $90.  Our great  thanks to Red Noland Cadillac.
